The free GPLv2-licensed XTIDE Universal BIOS provides the firmware. It supports hard disk autodetection, boot menu with hotkeys, CompactFlash and Microdrive support, block mode PIO transfers, and CHS/LBA translation. Builds range from Tiny (4KB) to Large (16KB) with optional boot menu.
